Sweater weather is here and in full force friends! Even better than sweater weather? Oversized sweater weather.
While I am super excited to wrap myself in oversized cozy oversized sweaters, I am also so sad to see the warmer temps go, and inevitably with it, the sun. Trying to live in the here & now and feel that fall-merging-with-winter excitement, but it’s just so hard knowing that WINTER IS COMING (Game of Thrones anyone? Sorry, I just binge watched the entire series and I am hooked. Super excited to actually be a part of the inevitable conversations that will come about at the start of next season!). That’s probably just the Texan in me though – I much prefer summer over any season, so winter in New York is brutal down to my core.
Insert all of the oversized sweaters to keep me warm and cozy, and when one isn’t enough, layer them up.
One of my favorite style tips for fall/winter is layering. Layering tees with tanks, layering dresses with sweaters, layering sweaters with sweaters, you get the point. If you can layer it, it’s a sure bet I’ll try it.
IMO, you can’t go wrong with an oversized turtleneck tucked into jeans, paired with an open front coat, or a duster. Here, I opted for a duster, but instead of pairing the look with jeans, I was feeling feisty and added a leather A-line mini & sheer tights. I love a good pair of sheer tights, so much more chic than the opaque version. I’m not sure if you can tell, but the tights I am wearing here are more of a sleight color than a black, which gives them that shimmery vibe, which I’m about.
As for the accessories, I didn’t put too much thought into these as they have been my go-to’s since I got them. The shoes are from SheIn, but I have also seen the available recently at both Zara & Topshop. The floral applique on this handbag makes me think Coach FW16 collection, but for a fraction of the price. I am super into it.
